Winsor & Newton Artists' Acrylic White Gesso

It is important to prepare your painting surface with a gesso primer as this ensures a stable and sealed surface, as well as adding tooth. It is also important to use a good quality primer for good quality colours as the longevity of the painting depends upon all its constituent parts.

These gessos may be applied to a clean, porous surface. Plastic surfaces will require abrading or sanding for 'tooth' and mechanical adhesion. Leather will need to be degreased (with methylated spirits/alcohol) and slightly abraded.
